VP of Business Systems Applications

We are seeking an accomplished Business Systems leader with an extensive background delivering “off the shelf” SaaS software solutions within a high-growth technology company. The Vice President, Business Systems Applications position is located at our corporate headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts, reporting to the Vice President, Business Systems, and is responsible for leading the delivery and ongoing management of our enterprise-wide business applications and related integrations. This includes responsibilities for application implementation, configuration, integration, testing, release, and ongoing support and maintenance. We have a cloud-only off-the-shelf approach, utilizing industry leading tools such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and SAP SuccessFactors with Boomi as the middleware engine. The Vice President must have broad experience and knowledge of SaaS business applications, agile delivery framework, software development lifecycle processes including a focus on DevSecOps, and helpdesk support. We are looking for a strong people and process leader to enable rapid scale, continue maturing the organizational structure, drive a culture of autonomy and accountability, and fully enable and support their leaders and team members. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the operations of a SaaS business end-to-end and the role of Business Systems in enabling rapid scalable growth and be a highly collaborative partner to our business stakeholders to continue to build strong relationships forged in transparency, trust, and partnership. Dynatrace’s Business Systems team runs in a Plan-Build-Run-Report model. This position will be responsible for leading the Build & Run teams within the model and will be a close partner to our Business Relationship Management team (Plan), and our Business Intelligence team (Report.)

Your role at Dynatrace

  • Provide leadership for the Business Systems Application teams. This includes support for initiatives, relationships with both internal and external parties, and providing technical expertise and counsel.  

  • Build an effective and scalable integrated enterprise architecture to ensure a smooth end to end experience and a high degree of data quality. 

  • Implement efficient common-sense agile based SDLC processes with the appropriate controls for a public company. 

  • Drive a solutions strategy roadmap which integrates business applications with business needs to optimize and grow the business. 

  • Work closely with senior leadership, Business Relationship Managers, and stakeholders across the organization to understand and define business requirements, solution design and drive delivery in an agile methodology. 

  • Build and lead a highly skilled fast-growing team of business analysts, architects, developers, qa analysts, and application administrators that effectively supports the entirety of Dynatrace’s business operations. 

  • Monitor emerging technologies and processes to identify and drive appropriate changes through Dynatrace’s business. 

  • Oversee business applications to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and security of data. 

  • Proactively manage and optimize the Business Systems budget, staffing plans and vendor relationships. 

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, rapid quality delivery, and accountability. 

  • Own IT controls related to program development, change management, IT operations, and access management. 

What will help you succeed

  • 10+ years of management experience leading business systems initiatives and delivery teams. 

  • Deep knowledge of cloud-based business applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and SAP SuccessFactors. 

  • Experience with a Plan-Build-Run delivery model in a fast-paced high-growth organization, with expertise designing and leading delivery teams supporting many cross-functional workstreams, weekly releases, and supporting 6,000+ global employees. 

  • Decisive leader with a focus on people and team development and building a culture of teamwork and partnership. 

  • Executive presence with a strong track record of partnership with all levels of the business stakeholder community. 

  • Strong foundation in agile development lifecycle within a packaged application delivery team. 

  • Demonstrated experience delivering packaged applications using configuration (not customization.) 

  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously on budget and on time with rapid timelines. 

  • Approach work with a sense of urgency and ownership, combined with strong problem solving and analytical skills. 

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications to the audience. 

  • Experience leading successful transformational technology led initiatives, such as HCM, ERP, and CRM implementations with a strong focus on value-based prioritization.
