Job Description

Dynatrace is seeking an experienced and collaborative public relations and marketing leader to join its corporate PR team. Reporting to the company’s media relations lead, this individual will own development of the Dynatrace media strategy, spanning earned and paid channels, and will create compelling press releases and pitches to help Dynatrace grow brand awareness in the hyper-growth cloud observability and application security market. 

We are looking for a skilled B2B communications professional with exceptional writing and critical thinking ability, and experience leading integrated cross-marketing, media-centric campaigns. Candidates must have a passion for working in fast-paced environments, and a proven track record of both developing and executing media plans. They should be a self-starter, results-oriented, have strong intellectual curiosity, and be comfortable working within a global organization. A mixture of agency and in-house experience is preferred. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conceptualizing, writing, and editing long-form content such as press releases, contributed articles, and op-eds 

  • Planning and implementing media-centric strategies and campaigns blending PR, content, social media, and other marketing channels 

  • Working with agency partners to establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with the media—building and maintaining journalist relationships, identifying story ideas, pitching stories, and securing coverage 

  • Organizing promotional events, press conferences, and media tours 

  • Developing subject matter expertise in Dynatrace technology as well as the issues that impact our business and the competitive landscape 

  • Working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and sales teams, and cultivating relationships with key industry influencers 

  • Developing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual media activity reports 

  • Analyzing media coverage and presenting strategy and results to Dynatrace executives 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in communications or business preferred 

  • 5+ years of communications experience, including technology/product and thought leadership programs 

  • Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills 

  • B2B SaaS experience 

  • Experience managing and leading agency teams 

  • Position is based in San Mateo, CA, or Waltham, MA
