Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Intern
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Financial Systems and Analytics team as a Summer Intern. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of finance and technology. The successful candidate will contribute to various aspects of financial operations, reporting, and data analysis, with a focus on leveraging technology tools for effective decision-making.
Your role at Dynatrace
We are looking for a Finance, Business, IT or similar student with masters, junior or senior level standing to join us this summer on our Financial Systems and Analytics team. This is a full-time, paid internship.
Reporting and Analysis:
Collaborate with the FP&A team to build and enhance financial reports for management
Work on requirements gathering to understand stakeholders' reporting needs
Utilize Excel for data analysis, creating pivot tables, and developing financial models
Leverage Power BI for creating dynamic and interactive dashboards
Assist in the design and development of visually compelling reports for stakeholders
Design and maintain Power BI semantic models to drive self-service reporting capabilities
Data Validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
Conduct data validation exercises to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data
Participate in UAT processes, ensuring that financial systems meet user requirements
Data Analysis and Transformation:
Develop and execute SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
Work closely with the technology team to understand and optimize database structures
Participate in data transformation projects to enhance the efficiency of financial processes
Explore opportunities to automate routine tasks and streamline data workflows
What will help you succeed
Current enrollment in a Bachelor's program in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field
Local to our Waltham, MA office and able to come into the office 3 days per week
Work experience: 0-1 Years
Considering a career in Finance, FP&A or Technology
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
Familiar with one or more of the following technologies:
Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and financial modeling, financial functions, lookups, pivot tables, array-based math, and nested conditional formulas
Basic understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint
SQL for data manipulation and analysis
Understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis
Familiarity with dimensional modeling / star-schema
Power BI / Power Query experience is a strong plus
