Job Description

Dynatrace ONE Principal Product Owner

Principal Product Owner 

The Principal Product Owner is accountable for maximizing the product's value resulting from the Team's work. The Product Owner is also responsible for effective Product Backlog management, which includes: 

  • Developing and explicitly communicating the Product Goal 

  • Creating and communicating Product Backlog items 

  • Ordering Product Backlog items 

  • Ensuring that the Product Backlog is transparent, visible, and understood.  

  • Manage and prioritize competing requests based on stakeholders' feedback and experience 

The Principal Product Owner will interact and collaborate with the users/stakeholders to understand their requirements and effectively communicate with the Team. The Product Owner will work with the stakeholders on the vision and goals to clearly understand the outcome and build appropriate radiators as needed. 

In this newly established role as a Dynatrace ONE Principal Product Owner, you will be responsible for the vision and management of the feedback loop for our customer experience applications with a prioritized focus on Zendesk and Totango with our post-sales customer teams. The ideal candidate has a powerful, agile mindset, is high-energy, passionate, tenacious, and assertive about product vision to deliver for their stakeholders. The candidate should also discern when firmness with their convictions is needed vs. being diplomatic when balancing the organization's needs. This candidate must be comfortable tailoring messaging for a target audience from individual contributors to senior executives. The Principal Product Owner ensures that this product vision is in line with the company's vision. They also create a product roadmap for this product vision.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to craft vision and concept development for our customer experience applications

  • Defining product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities communicating with stakeholders

  • Work with key business stakeholders and the post-sales operations team to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals; this includes Program Managers, Business Systems, and key stakeholders across the business

  • Work closely with product management/business teams to create and maintain a product backlog according to customer value

  • Receives guidance and collaborates with Agile Coach to ensure alignment with our developing corporate agile methodologies and framework practices

  • Maintains and delivers change management communication to the business stakeholders and end users on product releases and updates with an internally developed radiator

  • Defining user stories for customer experience platforms

  • This role will be empowered to make decisions over the product backlog

  • Manage competing prioritization requests between different stakeholders and teams

  • May play a dual role: Owner of the Product Backlog and Stakeholder as a consumer of Business Systems

  • The candidate should also be able to discern when a firmness with their conviction is needed vs. being diplomatic when balancing the organization's needs.

  • This candidate must be comfortable tailoring messaging for a target audience from individual contributors to senior executives. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 

  • 5+ years experience in product development

  • CSP-PO / PSPO III Certification or equivalent work experience 

  • Experience working in an agile transformative environment 

  • Previous experience with Zendesk and/or Totango is preferred but not required 

  • Deep understanding and experience with Agile methodologies 

  • Knowledge of business value around feature/functions 

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills 

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs 

  • Ability to execute under swift deadlines (must love moving fast and being flexible) 

  • Ability to create high-quality content independently (copy, presentations, etc.). 

  • Ability to embrace new challenges with confidence, curiosity, and an open mind 

  • This position follows a hybrid work model; candidates must reside in either Waltham, MA or Detroit, MI.
