Job Description

Join the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) and actively contribute to the future of Dynatrace and our growing open source investment which is an important part of our strategy. The OSPO is a multidisciplinary team of experts working with internal stakeholders, partners, cloud vendors, communities, and key customers to learn about emerging technologies early and make sure that Dynatrace is always ahead of the game. Some examples of the projects and organizations we are involved in: Keptn, Monitoring-as-Code (Monaco), OpenTelemetry, OpenFeature, CNCF/CDF/OpenSSF/TODO Group, CD Events, internal open source and InnerSource initiatives. 

In this role, together with the rest of the OSPO team and the legal team, you will support all of R&D to easily create, contribute, and maintain open-source projects by improving process and workflows. You will collaborate with product teams to advise them how to use upstream open source dependencies, and how to contribute to the open source projects (e.g. contributor license agreements - CLAs, patent transfers, etc.). You will also be a stakeholder in the OSPO tooling that would support the open source compliance processes: license scanning, SBOMs, CLA tooling, etc. This work will be done in partnership with automation engineers and open source community members. 

Your role

  • You will work with the legal, security and the OSPO teams to create and improve compliance automation processes and tooling. 

  • You will help us revolutionize the way we meet open source license obligations and to comply with SPDX standards creating best in class SBOMs 

  • Document and communicate our work to the rest of the community and company. 

  • Explore and test new technologies, to see how we can best leverage them. 

  • Continuously improve the open source compliance workflow for internal and open source projects. 

  • Participate in implementing and promoting best open source and InnerSource collaboration practices within the community and inside the company. 

  • Interface and coordinate with Legal Department regarding licensing and other legal issues 

Qualifications

  • Technical education (Computer Science, Business Informatics or similar) or Legal education (Compliance), or equivalent field experience. 

  • Experience with reading, writing, and creating legal agreements and legal documentation in Open Source is a plus

  • A good understanding of licensing, patent and IP

  • Deep understanding of open-source practices and communities. Experience with leading initiatives in open source will be a plus 

  • Familiarity with software development processes and release policies/tools 

  • Experience with SCA tools like Black Duck, FOSSology, Snyk, Dynatrace Application Security, LFX Security or similar 

  • Experience with open-source technology, licensing, and projects will be a strong plus 

  • Strong understanding of software license compliance issues 

  • Familiarity with SBOM, SPDX, OpenChain concepts. Hands-on experience will be a plus. 

  • Working independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations

Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 50,000 gross per year based on full-time employment (38,5 hours/week). We offer a higher salary in line with qualifications and experience.
