Job Description
The Tax Manager is responsible for all the LATAM tax calculations (including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru). They will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing all tax responsibilities across LATAM. In addition, the role shall identify and implement systems, polices and processes for the Tax function which will improve monitoring, accountability, and growth across the region.
Your role in the team
Tax Accounting
Coordinate the yearly LATAM tax calculation for US-GAAP
Assist as needed with the quarterly LATAM tax calculation for US-GAAP
Prepare the monthly cash tax payments/refunds reporting
Prepare the quarterly FIN48 reporting
Prepare the quarterly tax audit status reporting
Tax planning
Monitor and develop tax planning opportunities across LATAM
Manage tax planning projects across LATAM
Audits
Coordinate & manage tax audits, leading opening meetings, coordinate and monitor the timely answer to the queries, prepare comprehensive statements to queries of the various tax auditors
Prepare and lead intermediate tax audit meetings and final tax audit meetings within LATAM
Review final tax audit reports and prepare adjusted tax balance sheet for the years following tax audits and update fillings as appropriate.
Tax compliance
Coordinate the preparation of corporation tax returns for all LATAM legal entities and ensure timely filings
Correspond with all VAT, GST & corporation tax issues in the daily business
Manage transfer pricing documentation and filings
Assist and support VAT, GST or other compliance and provide regular updates to the team
Qualifications
Degree qualified in Taxation, commerce, business and accounting
8-12 years of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and/or multinational company
Excellent working knowledge of LATAM VAT/GST & Corporation Tax at an individual country level
Desire to maintain appropriate LATAM tax legislation knowledge and prepare management for all necessary impacts
Demonstrated experience in managing a medium/Large organization’s tax function and statutory compliance requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups
Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision
Excellent customer service skills.
OneSource Tax Provision experience.
MS Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at Advanced Level
Good conceptual ability, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analysis/problem solving skills
Fluent in English and Spanish
