"What I love most about my job is the opportunity to tackle intricate, low-level problems. Unlike teams that focus on creating visually appealing websites or user-friendly APIs, we delve into specific corner cases. I often spend hours immersed in documentation or exploring the OpenJDK source code, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
A typical day for me begins with diving into issues or pull requests, setting the stage for our team standup meeting. The afternoon is a dynamic mix of coding and meetings, ensuring each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth."

"If I had to encapsulate my job in a single word, it would be "variety", which is precisely what I enjoy most about it. I enjoy beginning my day early, which grants me around two hours of undisturbed focus time for responding to emails, reviewing PRs, and diving into technical tasks. Our standup meeting is the daily touchpoint that brings my team together, setting the stage for the day ahead. Throughout the day, I engage with my team members, fostering their development and empowering them as individuals. I make it a point to check in and discuss any emerging questions, ensuring a smooth workflow. I usually try and carve out another hour or so for uninterrupted focus work on technical tasks. It’s the mix of teamwork, tech, and focused tasks that keeps my job as a team captain of a development team interesting."
